The Wolf Trap Opera Studio


Wolf Trap Opera Studio 2008 The Wolf Trap Opera Studio is a summer residency for singers of significant potential who are current undergraduates or who are making the transition between undergraduate and graduate study. Studio Artists sing small roles and chorus in WTOC main-stage productions, present a scenes program, and study a rigorous performance-based curriculum.

Meet Our Current Studio Artists

The Wolf Trap Opera Studio offers young singers the professional and academic opportunities to take their talents to a higher level, and to cultivate and polish the skills needed to present themselves with confidence and authority in a very competitive field.

Offstage,

Wolf Trap Opera Studio Artists participate in educational programs and classes. Studio Artists work with opera professionals to advance their audition and performance techniques and personal artistry, covering subjects such as diction, recitative, acting and improvisation, movement and dance, and the business aspects of being a singer.

 


Onstage,

WTOC King for a Day 2008Studio Artists gain invaluable professional experience by performing in small roles and chorus, as well as possibly understudying larger roles in Wolf Trap Opera Company's main-stage operas and recitals which are professionally conducted, directed, coached, and designed. All casting assignments for Studio Artists will take into account the singer's current readiness and will be made with an eye toward principles of healthy vocalism, education, and advancement.
